Mt. Makiling hiking
To get to Mt. Makiling,
From the soccer fields of UPLB or from DL Umali Hall, you can walk to Mount Makiling entrance, passing thru the multiple steps under the red "toori / tori" arch in UPLB.
You can also rider a jeepney, ask if the driver will go to Forestry.
Cutoff times for climbing Mount Makiling are:
- Flatrocks - 2PM
- Mudspring - 11AM (where the buko juice stores are)
- Peak 2 - earlier.

If you don't make it to the cutoff of Mt. Makiling, there's still an alternative:
Makiling Botanic Gardens(MBG / "Botanical")

Makiling Botanic Gardens on the other hand is a different place, although it's also near the entrance of Mt. Makiling
The entrance is P40.
Only people allowed inside, no cars, no bicycles, and no pets.
Cutoff time of entrance to the park itself is 4:00PM, as it closes by 4:30PM.
The ecotrail has an earlier cutoff of 2PM.
You can see various plants with labels.
There are various birds too and you can have a picnic on the benches.
There's also a viewing deck for the water / pond.
There used to be a swimming pool, but it's no longer operational.
Parking - cars until this point only.
You can see the Birds of Moung Makiling, from around 4PM, you can hear the Tariktik.
